The tour serves as a memorable way for people to get to know Beaufort, as visitors take in the unique setting for the story of each novel. Legends & Lore of the Sea (Bike or Walking)
Enjoy the lure of the sea and the wonderful stories of confederate spies, pirates, privateers, seafarers, and lovers that make up the rich history of this seaport town. From tales about the pirate Blackbeard to the girl buried in the rum barrel, participants will learn about the military war heroes and early sea captains that became historic legends. Sample North Carolina’s Treasure of the Sea! On the North Carolina Shrimp Tour, you’ll enjoy delicious samplings where the main catch is fresh local shrimp! Each couple takes home one pound of North Carolina Shrimp packed for travel from a local fish market. The shrimp comes wrapped in authentic fish net from the original Net House in Beaufort. Known locally as the Seine House, the nets were made there. So, you’ll get to take home a small piece of local maritime history. 4 person minimum.
North Carolina Oyster Tour (Bike or Walking)
Sample North Carolina’s Jewel of the Sea! On the North Carolina Oyster Tour, visitors will enjoy delicious samplings where the main dish is fresh local oysters! Each couple takes home one dozen local Cedar Island Select Oysters packed for travel from a local fish market. The oysters come wrapped in authentic fish net from the original Net House in Beaufort. Known locally as the Seine House, the nets were made there. So, you’ll get to take home a small piece of local maritime history. 4 person minimum.
