OVERVIEW

The Outer Banks Scenic Byway was established in 2009, stretching from Highway 70 east of Beaufort across the Ocracoke ferry and on up Highway 12 on the Outer Banks to its intersection with Highway 64 south of Nags Head. It encompasses two National Seashores and a National Wildlife refuge as well as 21 villages in which the traditional maritime culture can still be seen and experienced.
