The inn is within walking distance of the boardwalk and floating docks, neighbored by village restaurants, shops, galleries, historic sites, and homes, as well as the Maritime Museum, which includes artifacts from Blackbeard’s Queen Anne’s Revenge, grounded offshore in 1718.
Tour the barrier islands by boat and watch dolphin and wild horses around the islands of Rachel Carson Reserve. Ferry to Shackelford Banks and Cape Lookout Lighthouse. Other activities include kayaking, parasailing, paddle boarding, scuba diving and fishing. Nearby are the North Carolina Aquarium and Fort Macon State Park, which offers public beach access as well as tours of the fort.
